Andre Ayew’s widely reported move to West Ham has hit a snag after Diafra Sakho, the player whose departure is expected to create space for him at the Hammers discovered a back problem during a medical at West Brom.
West Brom called-off Sakho’s move because the player has a back problem which will not heal in time.
It is understood the Senegalese did not fail his medical, but he would not have been fit for the start of the season.
Sakho, 26, scored 15 league goals in 44 appearances for West Ham, although he has suffered several injury problems.
His likely departure added to speculation that the Deputy Black Stars captain was undergoing a medical at the Hammers ahead of a £16m move from the Swans.
However, with the Sakho deal now off and Swansea struggling to find a replacement, it appears Ayew might be staying put in Wales.
