Paa Kwesi Fabin has moved to end any doubts about Amos Frimpong’s future under him at Asante Kotoko insisting the defender will remain captain of the Ghanaian giants.
Circling media reports claimed this week that the experienced right-back has been stripped of the leadership role in a massive shake-up.
But speaking to journalists after his side’s 10-0 thumping of lower side Kumawuman United in a friendly on Thursday, the former Ghana Under-17 gaffer denied the widespread reports.
“I’ve heard it from the media but I urge you all to treat it with the highest contempt it deserves,” he said
“I just came to the club and I can’t do that. A coach can’t do that – stripping off a captain without doing anything. Amos Frimpong will continue to be my captain.”
