With only seven games remain to crown the winners of the Ghana Premier League trophy, Wa All Stars have emerged champions-elect after the end of week 23 fixtures on Sunday.
All Stars capitalised on Accra Hearts of Oak’s 3-0 loss at WAFA yesterday to move two points clear at the top with 41 points. Aduana Stars also missed the opportunity to move into second place when they suffered a 2-1 loss at Sekondi Hasaacas.
Elsewhere, Kumasi Asante Kotoko returned to winning ways after their skipper Amos Frimpong converted a penalty to down Inter Allies.

Wa All Stars 2-0 Bechem United – Wa Park
Wa All Stars returned to the summit of the Ghana Premier League with a comfortable 2-0 win over Bechem United. Sadick Alhassan (penalty) and Richard Arthur scored in either side of halftime to send The Blues two points clear.
Ashgold 2-0 New Edubiase – Len Clay Stadium
Defending Champions Ashgold defeated neighbours New Edubiase United 2-0 at the Len Clay Stadium.
The tie saw Ashgold under-fire coach, Bashir Hayford return to the bench and goals by Fuseini Nuhu and Osei Baffour handed the Aboakese lads all three points.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko 1-0 Dreams FC – Baba Yara Stadium
Kumasi Asante Kotoko skipper, Amos Frimpong ensured that the Porcupine Warriors ended their five-game winless streak when he converted a late penalty at the Baba Yara Stadium. The win moved Kotoko to fourth place and within five points of leaders All Stars.
Berekum Chelsea 1-1 Liberty Professionals – Berekum
Liberty Professional escaped with a valuable point after holding Berekum Chelsea to a 1-1 score. Seth Appiah scored for Bechem while Daniel Kodie’s goal ensured that Liberty avoided their seventh away defeat.
Sekondi Hasaacas 2-1 Aduana Stars – Essipong Stadium
Aduana Stars missed the opportunity to move into second place on the Ghana Premier League table when they were stunned 2-1 by relegation-threatened Aduana Stars on Sunday at the Essipong Stadium.
Hasaacas took the lead in the game through Ebo Duncan, but Bright Adjei drew Cioba Aristica’s Aduana level before Richmond Opoku scored the winner for Hasmal.
Inter Allies 1-1 Medeama SC – Tema Park
Kwesi Donsu’s strike cancelled out Gockel Ahortor’s masterful free-kick for Inter Allies as they split the points at the Tema Park on Sunday.
Techiman City 0 Ebusua Dwarfs 1 – Nana Ameyaw Park
Ebusua Dwarfs brilliant form in the second round of the season continued on Sunday at the Nana Ameyaw Park courtesy Alhaji Mustapha’s goal.
Dwarfs who were in the throes of relegation in the first round are now two points clear of the bottom three clubs.
