Former Black Stars player Augustine Ahinful has called on Black players in Europe to stage a massive boycott in this weekend’s League games as a sign to express their displeasure about the recent racial abuse on Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari.
Muntari has been suspended for a game after walking off the pitch during Pescara’s League game against Cagliari due to racial chants by a session of the Cagliari fans.
Many football enthusiasts have condemned the act by the fans of the Italian Club (Cagliari).
Ahinful who was ones a victim of racial abuse during his playing days has urged Black players in Europe to boycott the weekend games.
“I am also a victim of this, and I will like Black players in Europe to boycott this weekend’s game, not only in Italy but in Europe,” he told Atinka FM.
“That will at least help stop the issue of racism in our game, Muntari is not the fact black player to have suffered this racial abuse, several other black players have also suffered similar thing.”
