Aduana Stars winger Zakaria Mumuni has declared their readiness to conquer ES Setif ahead of their CAF Champions League second leg showdown in Algeria.
The Ghana Premier League champions hold a slender advantage going into the second leg tie in Algeria after defeating ES Setif 1-0 at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park on Wednesday.
Several pundits have already sounded the bell of gloom as they believe the Fire Boys have no chance of escaping the wrath of the eight-time Algerian champions when the two sides square off at the Stade 8 Mai 1945 on Friday, March 16.
However, Mumuni who put up a man-of-the-match and won a penalty in the 72nd minute which was converted by Sam Adams, has declared that they need to work above themselves in the game to secure the sole ticket though he admitted the challenge they will face in achieving such feat.
“The game wasn’t easy, we expected to score more but that is the game of football but the win was important so that we could prepare very well for the second leg.
“I’m hopeful we can eliminate them, we can go to Algeria and get good results and approach the game with all seriousness but ES Setif is good side with lots of experience players,” Mumuni said.
Mumuni also rallied for support as they look to fly high the flag of Ghana on the African continent.
“I will entreat Ghanaians to support us ahead of the second leg and I assure them we will make Ghana proud,” Mumuni ended.
