Aduana Stars pipped Bechem United 1-0 to reach the final of the 2016 G6 Tournament at the Coronation Park in Sunyani on Saturday afternoon.
Attacking midfielder Sam Adams snatched victory for Yussif Abubakar’s side when he applied an awesome low volley in the 15th minute to tilt the game in their favourite.
The Dormaa-based side paraded a strong side but they were without star-man Yahaya Mohammed who has moved to Tanzania while the Hunters also missed goal-machine Abednego Tetteh who has sealed a move to Sudanese titans Al Hilal.
Both side attempted to put their artistry on display but the soggy nature of the turf at the Coronation Park bedeviled their intentions.
Aduana Stars emerged victorious in the physical display that ensued as a result but they fetched their goal in a brief moment of brilliance.
Daniel Darkwa unleashed a brilliant pass to Adams who kept his calm to fire home from inside the area with the goalkeeper having no answers.
Bechem responded well but failed on three occasions in the first-half to level the scoring as Manuel Zacharias’ men missed glorious chances to pull even.
At some point midway through the second-half, Aduana keeper Joseph Addo had to be at his best to deny Bechem and keep his side in the lead.
