Legendary African footballer Abedi Ayew Pele has backed newly established sportswear company Decathlon to succeed in Ghana
Speaking at the public launch of the biggest sportswear shop in West Africa,the ex-Marseille attacker welcomed Decathlon to Ghana, stating that he expects them to thrive in Ghana since their presence here provides an answer to the challenge of having world class sporting equipments and wears at affordable prices
“Its amazing to be part of this. Decathlon has come to solve the problem of getting sports wears for our activities and I’m glad. This gives us an opportunity to do the sports that we want to do. In Ghana, people are only interested in football but Decathlon gives us a great opportunity to do other disciplines. I’m so glad we have them here and their prices are also good”. The legend remarked.
Decathlon is a French sports wear firm with over 110 branches worldwide.
On Thursday, Decathlon opened their biggest shop in West Africa at the Junction Mall in Nungua, Accra.
The shop occupies 1,250 square metres and is stocked with over 3000 products spanning over 40 different sports disciplines.
The country manager of Decathlon Ghana, Kwasi Tarburi reaffirmed his outfit’s commitment to sports development and assured Ghanaians of excellent products at affordable rates.
