Two persons lost their lives during a sporadic shooting incident at Miotso near Tema Thursday afternoon.
The incident was sparked by a quarrel over a parcel of land between indigenes of Dawhenya and Miotso.
Six persons have been seriously injured whilst 16 others alleged to be part of the disturbances have been picked up.
According to the Tema Regional Police Command, due to the severity of the case, it has been transferred to the National CID headquarters.
According to an eye witness, the incident started with a quarrel, which attracted factions and degenerated into a fight.
The confusion turned into a battle of guns and firing into the air, creating fear and panic among residents of Miotso.
This compelled most of them to go indoors into hiding.
But after a joint police-military reinforcement from Ashaiman, some calm was restored.
The injured are receiving treatment at the Tema General Hospital.
