Seven financial journalists have been shortlisted for various awards, including the ultimate, at the IFEJ-Flamingo Awards 2016.
They are Maxwell Adombila and Jessica Acheampong from Graphic Business, Famous Atsitsogbe, a freelancer formerly of Multi Media, Rebecca Awuah of GBC 24, Kofi Adu Dumfeh of TV3 Network, Adu Koranteng of New Crusading Guide, Adnan Adams Mohammed of Economic Times and Theophilus Kwasi Agyei Anim of KFS TV formerly Viasat Viasat One.
A total of 35 entries were received from 14 financial journalists of which 25 were from the print media and 10 the electronic media.
This year’s award is on the theme: “ Strengthening micro finance institutions to enhance the growth of rural and micro enterprises”.
The award ceremony will take place on Friday, January 27 at 6.00pm at the Dubois Memorial Centre at Cantonments in Accra.
Guest Speaker for the event is Professor Ernest Aryeetey, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Legon with Mr Alhassan Andani, Managing Director of Stanbic Bank
In July last, the IFEJ launched the third edition of the IFEJ-Flamingo Award for Business and Financial Journalism.
The awards seek to recognise business and financial journalists and editors who have provided high quality coverage of the business and financial environment in the country.
