President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has asked for prayers from Ghanaians, precisely from the Muslim community on Friday, as he gets ready to head the next administration.
“I will need your support. I will need your prayers. I will need you to keep me in your prayers everyday because the task that has been put on me is not an easy one.”
Nana Akufo-Addo expressed these sentiments on Friday, December 16, when he joined thousands of Muslims in a thanksgiving service at the Central Mosque in Abossey Okai, Accra.
The service is to thank Allah for a victorious election.
Addressing the congregation, the president-elect assured that all the promises he made during the electioneering campaign period will be implemented.
He said the free senior high school education, the revival of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), the One-district-One-Factory promise as well as the Zongo Development Fund are all going to be done under his watch.
“All of these are matters that we are going to address and do to promote the welfare and progress of our people.”
He, therefore, called for prayers and the guidance of the Almighty Allah “to make sure that I succeed for the benefit of Ghana”.
Nana Akufo-Addo lauded the peaceful co-existence of Christians and Muslims from generation to generation in the country and assured that “we will do everything possible to protect the peace and stability of Ghana”.
