Table tennis players and lovers of the game will experience yet another day of exciting play as the whole of Ghana congregates at Ofankor Barrier under Bridge on Saturday 28th January 2017 at 9am to witness exciting play interspersed with sublime skills from both the young and old.
This maiden edition, is being organized by J C Positive Initiatives, an Event Management Company.
It is a one-day competition dubbed Table Tennis under Bridge (TTUB) Competition.
According to Nathaniel Kwesi Somuah, the brain behind this initiative, the main aim of this competition is to unearth table tennis talents while rekindling the love for the sport by sending this novel idea closer to the people at a high traffic location to appreciate and enjoy the sport.
The competition is in two parts; under 12 and under 15 (male & female), where the kids will battle it out for laurels. The second part is an Open championship where people will play for pride.
There will be as many as eight (8) table tennis boards for all to enjoy.
National team players, Ghana Table Tennis Association, the media, corporate and lovers of the game will be there in their numbers to enjoy table tennis while fraternizing with new friends.
In an interview with Kwame Ampong Asomaning, CEO of J C Positive Initiatives, he envisages this program developing into the establishment of a Table Tennis Academy where talented kids will be groomed into national stars.
This program is sponsored by Achimota School year 2000 group, Kamal Deen Mahdi, Jason Onyameh of Divine Travel and Tours, NokofioOnline.com, Ghana Table Tennis Association and other philanthropists.
It is the prayer of the Organizers of Table Tennis under Bridge that the sport will be developed into a national sport with enough funding to produce stars to represent the nation in international competitions.
Organizers can be contacted on 0243135337 for further enquiries.
