Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been advised to remain calm and re-strategise ahead of the 2020 elections.
Greater Accra Region Women’s Organiser for the party, Felicia Mekpoi Bortey, says the battle ahead of the party requires “tact and comradeship to surmount it”, therefore licking current wounds will not augur well.
In a statement to thank the leadership of the party on the back of losing the elections in Accra, Ms Bortey stated: “We fought a good fight, but we lost and so brothers and sisters, let’s stop the media war against our own leaders and be calm, reflect and take a good strategy on how best we can move as a family”.
She said the rank and file of the party should be proud of having built “the biggest and most democratic party in Ghanaian history”.
“We must stand together as a party and look to the future with renewed optimism.”
She acknowledged the tireless efforts that were invested in the campaign to retain Greater Accra Region.
“Let’s pat ourselves on the shoulder for a good job for having worked tirelessly on our campaign,” she stated. “No one wins an election by himself. We all did our best to retain Greater Accra, but unfortunately God thought otherwise.”
She called for renewed strength in reclaiming victory in 2020.
