Voters, mostly security officers, who could not vote last Thursday during the Special Voting exercise will have the opportunity to do so today, Sunday, December 4.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the Inter-party Advisory Committee (IPAC) last Thursday.
The exercise recorded a 72.69 per cent turnout last time with the Upper East Region recording the highest turnout of 87.20 per cent.
Sunday’s exercise is, by the agreement at the IPAC meeting, for “voters whose names are included in either the earlier Special Voters list or the updated one provided to the political parties.
“Persons who transferred their vote and whose name appeared on the Special Voters list but who could not vote on December 1, 2016.
“And persons who did not transfer their votes, but whose names appeared on the Special Voters list in the Constituency where they are registered to vote.”
Those whose names are on the Special Voters list but do not vote will not be able to vote on Wednesday, December 7 as their voter numbers will be deactivated from the biometric verification devices.
And those whose names are entirely not on the list have been asked to contact their superiors so they can be deployed to or near their polling stations on election day to vote.
