President Akufo Addo has sworn in his first 12 ministers with the exception of the Foreign Affairs Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey who was in Addis Ababa during the swearing in ceremony which was held on Friday Jan. 27, 2017.
Addressing the new ministers, the president charged them to deliver on the mandate of the party’s manifesto and no to disappoint the “overwhelming support” reposed in them by the people of Ghana.
The president then said “Shirley Ayorkor Botwey, Minister for Foreign Affairs has already entered into her functions. She is in Addis Ababa attending a forum for foreign ministers meeting for preparations for the AU summit from the 29th -31th of January.
“I will swear her in in Ghana’s embassy in Addis Ababa, tomorrow.”
The President who is attending the summit himself would be joined by other African Union Heads of State for the Ordinary Summit in Ethiopia.
Speaking on behalf of the ministers, Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Marfo said “we know the effort he has made to become president and we know the type of quality he provides on the table. We know his vision as a president and we know he wants to make a difference.
“We will give him the necessary support to make a difference.”
