Dancehall king Shatta Wale was adjudged Artiste of the year at the just ended Ghana Music Awards UK.
The first edition of Ghana Music Awards-UK took place successfully on Saturday, Nov 5 at the Gaumont Palace (Dominion Center).
The ceremony was hosted by Kweku Owusu-Frimpong, DJ Abrante and Confidence Haugen and as well Hot FM’s DJ Billy was the man in charge of the turntables.
The likes of Castro, Dasebre Gyamena were more or less celebrated on the night as their contributions were made known to the public in a form of a documentary and yes, the story of Hiplife was told by the legendary Mark Okraku-Mantey.
Samini, Stonebwoy, Rev Osei Kofi, Slim Busterr, Duke of D2, others performed on the night.
Freddie Annan and Gyedu Blay-Ambulley were given lifetime achievement award on the night.
Few reservations though, the show lacked star quality; lots of the award-winners were absent, co-ordination between the Mcs very terrible, sound was bad, the playback not playing and more
