A major shake-up has hit the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, resulting in the reassignment of the Director General.
Commissioner of Police (COP) Prosper Agblor, who has been head of the Department in the tenure of at least two Inspector Generals of Police, has been moved to the Special Duties Department in the same capacity he occupied at the CID.
3news.com gathers that his deputy, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dennis Ako-Dem, has also been moved.
He is heading to the same department as his boss, to be his assistant.
Director General of the Welfare Department DCOP Bright Oduro has been appointed as the new Director General for the CID.
DCOP Oduro will be assisted by ACP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo Danquah, who until her latest appointment was the Police Intelligence and Professional Standards (PIPS) Bureau.
These changes have come two days after COP David Asante Apeatu was named Inspector General of Police by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
