Black Stars winger Jeffrey Schlupp is eligible to play for his new club Crystal Palace as they travel to London to play West Ham United Saturday.
Schlupp over the week completed a four-and-a-half year transfer deal from champions Leicester City to Crystal Palace.
The free transfer was hailed by the Eagles’ manager Sam Allardyce.
“I am delighted we have been able to secure Jeffrey’s services, he is a player I have admired for some time and is a talented and athletic player,” Big Sam said after the deal was sealed on Friday.
“He will bring strength and experience to the defence and will be a major asset for the club having just turned 24 years old.”
Born in Germany, Schlupp moved to England at a tender age with his parents and has only featured for the Foxes in his professional career though he had a loan spell with Brentford.
He was part of Claudio Ranieri’s side that defied all odds to win the English Premier League last season.
He tweeted on Friday that he had some “amazing memories” at Leicester over the 13 years he was with them.
“Thank you to everyone at the club and fans for your support.”
13 years with #lcfc – some amazing memories and a massive part of my life. Thank you to everyone at the club and the fans for your support.
Schlupp will not be part of the 2017 Africa cup of Nations after being snubbed by Black Stars coach Avram Grant in his 26-man-provisional squad.
