President Nana Addo Dankwa AKufo-Addo has acknowledged the straits in which the country’s economy is but has assured of transforming it.
He therefore called on all to help him “bring relief to our population”.
President Akufo-Addo says his government is bent on delivering on the commitment it made to Ghanaians prior to winning power.
He said the will to deliver on the promises was factored into the selection of his ministers.
President Akufo-Addo expressed these sentiments on Thursday, January 12 after unveiling his third batch of ministers.
Among the ministers-designate in Thursday’s list are Catherine Afeku (Tourism, Arts and Culture), Mavis Hawa Koomson (Special Development Initiatives) and Mustapha Abdul-Hamid (Information).

With these appointments, the president said he expects them to sail through the vetting process in order to come on board to help him transform the economy.
“Our economy is in difficulty,” he stressed.
“It is therefore time for us to put our shoulders to the wheel, work hard and have the appropriate policies in place that will be able for us to lift up our economy and bring relief to our population.”
He said the country is endowed with numerous resources that should not put Ghanaians in the state they are now.
“Proper management of those resources under the correct policies should be able to generate prosperity for our people.”
