The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who is the life patron of the Kumasi Asante Kotoko football club, has dissolved the board and management of the club.
A statement to the media from Manhyia, office of the Asantene, and signed by the Chief of Staff Kofi Badu indicated that the board and management have been dissolved.
“To facilitate a speedy transition to the new administration the Acting General Manager has been directed to hand over the club’s administration to the Accountant,” the statement issued on Friday said.

Manhyia Palace announces that His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has received the Final Report of the Board of Directors of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club together with the Interim Accounts for the 2015/2016 Premier League season.
The Board of Directors was appointed for a three-year tenure of three premier league seasons which ended with the close of the 2015/2016 season in September 2016.
His Majesty has expressed his appreciation to the Chairman and members of the Board and their Management team for their devoted service and thanked them for their contribution to the upliftment of the club. He has urged them to remain unflinching in their support and be ready to cooperate with the successor administration to raise the club to the new heights envisioned by His Majesty.
Meanwhile, to facilitate a speedy transition to the new administration the Acting General Manager has been directed to hand over the club’s administration to the Accountant.
