Only one person successfully voted at the Domeabra/Obom Constituency in the Greater Accra Region in Sunday’s Special Voting, 3FM’s Solomon Mensah reported after polls close.
Twenty-three persons were expected to vote on Sunday as 11 had exercised their franchise on the first day, Thursday, December 1.
But after polls closed, a total of 22 voters were recorded as not having turned up to cast their ballot.
A few number reported but did not find their names in the register, Solomon Mensah reported, and so went back.
With a 72.69 per cent of turn-out on the first day, it was expected that the gap will be closed.
At Oforikrom Constituency, 33 persons out of an expected 250 successfully cast their ballot, TV3’s Ibrahim Abubakar reported.
This brings the total number of voters after the two-day special voting to 355 out of 605, he said.
At Asawase Constituency, Ibrahim Abubakar still reported, 14 out of an expected 76 voters managed to vote.
This brought the total number of successful voters to 134 out of 210.
In Tamale North Constituency, TV3’s Zubaida Ismail, reports that 55 out of the 202 voters successfully went through the exercise on Sunday.
In the Wa Central Constituency, Abdul Gafur reports that 75 officers voted on Sunday. 484 voted on Thursday, therefore, bringing the number of successful voters in the constituency to 559 out of 960 registered voters.
In the Nhyiaeso Constituency, Onua FM’s Antwi Boasiako reported that 392 voters successfully voted on Thursday while 71 voted on Sunday. Therefore, 282 did not turn up as 745 registered voters were expected to vote in the constituency.
