Ghanaian highlife duo INK has expressed the desire to take the genre to the level of having the likes of Adele, Neyo and Usher collaborate with them.
“We’ll never stop until we get Adele, Neyo and Usher do highlife song with us”
The music duo said this in an interview on Wednesday, October 19 on 3FM.
“We have gone through a lot of challenges as individuals and as a group,” they said.
“We have chosen highlife as our genre and that is who we are. We will perform the genre until we get British Multiple Award winning singer Adele, American song writer, composer, singer and music producer and award winners Neyo and Usher record highlife songs with us”.
Many will think this dream and vision is not feasible but the duo believe firmly in it.
They currently embarking on a media tour from the Ashanti Region to the Greater Accra Region in promotion of their brand and their new single titled Nakupenda.
INK, couched from their first names Iyke and Kay, have participated in all the biggest reality shows in Ghana – from MTN Hitmaker to TV3 Mentor and finally winning Viasat 1 Born Starz.
They have proven to be fully ready for mainstream music.
With a unique blend of the acoustic strings and soulful highlife tunes, INK is ready to help sustain the genre in contemporary Ghana and take it beyond.
The group brings a unique style of smooth, new jack swag unlike anything ever heard.
Undergoing two years of preparations and studies under their management, INK is set to be the diamond in the music industry.
Their first single titled Nakupenda is a Swahili word for “l love you” and it was recorded under MoStrings Records, a talent management house under MoStrings Gates.
