The Presidential Candidate of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, has promised the Akyemansa District in the Eastern Region two factories if elected, the party’s Ofoase-Ayirebi candidate has revealed.
The factories will be a rice factory and a soap factory.
PPP’s Parliamentary Candidate John Obiri Yeboah said he will add to the two factories two of his own, making a total of four in the district, if he wins the December 7 elections.
Speaking in an interview on Onua FM after a min-rally at Akyem Abenase on Friday, Mr Obiri Yeboah said his party’s presidential candidate is unrivalled when it comes to established firms.
He said in each region and even district of Ghana, an Nduom company could be found.
“He has seen the love [from Akyemansa] and has promised to give us two factories,” Mr Obiri Yeboah said about Dr Nduom.
He said the rice factory will be modeled on what Dr Nduom has in Worawora in the Volta Region while the soap factory will give jobs to the many women involved in palm oil processing.
The PPP candidate said he hears the mantra of ‘Change’ all over in the constituency, even from New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters, and since they are the incumbent party in Ofoase-Ayirebi, he believes the change will be him coming to power.
