A former National Security Advisor, Brigadier General Nunoo Mensah has lauded President-elect Nana Akufo Addo for the persons named to man the security of the country for the next four years.
Nana Akufo Addo on Wednesday indicated the reintroduction of a ministry that was scrapped under the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration – Ministry of National Security.
That position would be occupied by Albert Kan-Dapaah subject to parliamentary approval. Other names given by the president-elect to occupy other key security positions are Joshua Kyeremeh for National Security Coordinator and Brigadier General Emmanuel Okyere as National Security Advisor.
Speaking to Accra based Citi Fm, Brigadier General Nunoo Mensah who is also a former Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) said “Nana Akufo Addo has made the right choice… I know Mr. Kan Dapaah very well, he is a very astute man and has the competence for the office he is going to head.”
“I wish them well and I believe they will be able to serve and protect the nation well.”
Nana Akufo Addo also announced names of persons who would be working close to him in the office of the president including the Chief of Staff, madam Frema Opare who would be deputized by Abu Jinapor and Francis Asenso Boakye.
