Hundreds of men have taken to Reddit to reveal the most infuriating things their wives and girlfriends do.
After one person asked social media users to spill the beans on their partners’ biggest faults, responses poured in thick and fast, with everything from singing in public to bad dancing scoring highly.
Among the annoying habits cited were simple domestic quarrels such as emptying the contents of the fridge and poor bathroom etiquette.
Redditor ex23 moaned: ‘[My girlfriend] drinks all the juice, and then denies it. I’m like, “it’s just you and me here?”‘
While a fellow Reddit user complained of the ‘boring stories’ his partner told, which he claimed ‘make my balls crawl back into my body when she tells them.’
He told how her toe-curling stories would be along the lines of: ‘So this dude at work did [insert literally anything] and I was like EXCUSE ME. Then my coworkers were like DAMN GIRL you have attitude.’
Redditor magic_addict said of his girlfriend: ‘She meows at me when she is turned on. I appreciate the sentiment, but man it bugs me.
‘I can’t tell her because then she’ll get self conscious every time she’s “in the mood.”‘
One user criticised his partner for ‘using hyperbole to reinforce her points when arguing’.
He added: ‘It’s ego getting in the way of a real discussion. BUT, she is getting better at it.’
Foxtrottits said he was fed-up of his girlfriend doing a ‘weird dance with her hands’ when listening to music in the car.
He moaned: ‘I think she thinks it’s cool, but I can’t stand it, especially the fact that she’s trying to be cool. Sounds mean to say it like that. I just like her the way she is, she doesn’t need to be cool.’
While Gucci_Time complained of his significant other’s singing voice. ‘At the end of any verse when she’s singing, she jumps one note at the very end of it which makes it sound like a whine.’
He added: ‘I love everything about her but it just grates me. So I play music that she can’t sing along to when I’m driving. It’s mean I know but I just can’t un-cringe, science just hasn’t made that leap yet.’
One man moaned about his girlfriend’s mispronunciation of the word ‘sandwich’ while another told how his partner leaving the shower curtains open drove his berserk.
However female respondents were keen to get their say too, with dozens of women giving their two cents on the subject.
Ileeny12 moaned about her boyfriend leaving the water running while brushing his teeth, while whittiez said she found herself cringing when her partner decided to ‘run like a ninja’ with his arms stretched out behind him – in a public car park.
Redditor Straigh said of her boyfriend’s most ‘uncouth’ habit: ‘Love love love the man but he always talks with fake accents around people of whatever particular ethnicity and genuinely doesn’t consider that it might be offensive.’
Bizarrely, one woman said her partner had a habit of running away and leaving her in department stores – especially ones that she was not familiar with.
‘When I finally find him, he flashes me crazy eyes and runs away again,’ she said.
Meanwhile, jtay100 revealed she was mortified by her boyfriend’s tendency to start dancing whenever a good song comes on.
‘In a booth, in a chair, sometimes even standing up,’ she wrote. ‘Still love him though.’
The thread, posted on Wednesday evening, has already attracted almost 260 comments.
