The Nanumba-North District Police Command has arrest a resident of Kurani community in the district, Npeyin Bonduri, for suspected case of robbery.
Npeyin Bonduri, 35, together with a gang of three on December, 14 2016 at about 1:00am attempted robbing some four Fulani nomads, who were sojourning from Kurani to Gushegu, in the Northern Region.
The victims, who have lived in Kurani for about two years, were heading to Nigeria, according the police.
In the robbery attack, the nomads fiercely fought back and inflicted cutlass wounds on Npeyin Bonduri’s head, leaving him almost lifeless.
A call was made to a veterinary officer (name withheld) in Bimbila township who subsequently reported to the Bimbila police to rescue Npeyin Bonduri, who was immediately sent to the Bimbila Hospital for treatment.
But for the vigilance of nurses on duty at the surgical ward, suspect Npeyin Bonduri, who appears paralyzed, would have escaped.
Narrating the incident to 3news.com, the Nanumba-North District Police Commander, ASP Ben Aniah, revealed that investigation will commence once the suspect is fit to aid the police.
“He will be prepared before court once he is fit and can give information that will help us in our investigation.”
Three members of the gang are currently on the run, he indicated.
