According to the presidential nominee of opposition New Patriotic Party, President Mahama has patented the act of stealing elections in the country.
Nana Akufo-Addo was reacting to suggestion by Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur that the NPP is plotting to rig this year’s presidential and parliamentary elections on December 7.
“I will urge all of you to be extra vigilant. NDC needs help. On December 7, some people will try to cheat the NDC. Be very vigilant to ensure no one succeeds in cheating us,” he told party supporters at Asawase constituency at the weekend.
But Nana Akufo-Addo has absolved the NPP from any plan to rig the crucial elections. He told teeming supporters of the NPP in the Ablekuma West constituency that the party has no reason to steal the elections.
He said the Vice President and his boss John Mahama “have a copyright of the rigging phenomenon in Ghana”.
He suspected that the Vice President made those pronouncements knowing very well that the December polls would not go the NDC’s way, hence the need to find someone to blame for their impending defeat.
