President John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to address the nation at 9:00pm Tuesday ahead of Wednesday’s general elections.
The president will address the nation in his capacity as the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.
The address is expected to be transmitted across the nation via national radio and television.
President Mahama has vowed not to be a president under whose regime Ghana will be plunged into election-related war as the country goes into its seventh successive elections.
At the signing of the peace accord last Thursday, President Mahama told the gathering made up of international leaders including Liberia’s Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, who is the Chair of Ecowas, that he has more to lose than the other presidential candidates.
President Mahama is contesting the elections for the second time, having won the previous one at the expense of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who will contest the elections for the third time.
