Paris St Germain right-back Serge Aurier has been given a two-month prison sentence by a French court after being found guilty of abusing police.
23-year-old Aurier was involved in an altercation outside a nightclub near Paris on May 30, in which he abused and acted violently towards police officers.
The Ivory Coast international was also fined €600 (£520) by the Paris correctional tribunal, with a further €1,500 in costs.
The sentence is “convertible”, meaning that Aurier will almost certainly perform community service rather than actually go to jail.
He has already announced that he will appeal the decision, and is still a free man – indeed, he is expected to be available for PSG’s Champions League match at Ludogorets this week.
He has played for PSG five times this season, and provided the assist for Edinson Cavani’s goal against Arsenal in the Champions League two weeks ago.
