The Eastern Regional Executive of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has chastised President John Mahama for using state resources for his campaign tour.
The members argued that the president didn’t have the mandate to use them for political campaigning.
They want the Ministry of Defence to issue an invoice to the president for the cost.
Addressing journalists on Thursday, November 3, Regional Youth Organiser Jerry Opoku alleged that President Mahama failed to use the cocoa roads and other deplorable roads because they were in bad state.
“Mahama resorted to flying the helicopter than using the road. They are using state resources for their party campaign,” he said.
He added that the Agenda 50/50 intended be the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Region will be a mirage because several of the roads in the Green Book (of the NDC) are not in the state as shown.
“President Mahama promised a university for the Eastern Region, a stadium, the Atibie-Nkawkaw Road [and] the Suhum interchange have been abandoned. We know huge amounts have been allocated for the roads and paid to party Aparichikis” they alleged.
Communications Officer David Prah said the president has lost touch with the people.
“We know people were bussed with MMT buses to the rally grounds.”
He made a strong defence his flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has the competence to change the destiny of the country with policies such as ‘1-district, 1-factory policy’ and the others.
