Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party Nana Obiri Boahene has hit hard at the Ashanti regional chairman of the NDC, Yaw Owusu Obimpeh, questioning his mental stability in the process.
Yaw Owusu Obimpeh had claimed leaders of the opposition New Patriotic Party are training some mercenaries in neighbouring Ivory Coast to cause mayhem after the 2016 elections, if the NPP is defeated.
Reacting to Mr. Obimpeh’s remarks on 3fm’s midday news, Nana Obiri Boahene wondered from the news anchor Kwakye Afreh Nuamah if the NDC’s regional chairman was mentally stable.
“With due respect to your listeners, are you sure the man is mentally stable?” he asked.
“I’m not insulting him or offending the sentimentalities or the sensibilities of your listeners but I am saying so considering the fact that no matured adult will be talking like that by making this baseless and unsubstantiated allegation.
“The NPP are the disciples and descendants of democrats in this country that is why we are being referred to as ‘Domo ase fuo’ and we are proud of our track record”.
Nana Obiri Boahene described the NDC as a party that was conceived, born and nurtured out of violence unlike the NPP that was born out of democratic credentials.
He said “We are democrats and we are proud of the legacy of the Busia’s, Danquah’s and we are proud of our track record”.
