President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as well as people in the Ashanti Region to give him the needed support to enable him execute campaign promises he made to Ghanaians for the development of the country.
Nana Akufo-Addo also reaffirmed his commitment to fulfill his promises when he paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia palace in Kumasi on Wednesday.
He also thanked the Asantehene for his counsel and support during the elections.
The president-elect was accompanied by his vice president-elect, Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, Minority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, former Trades Minister, Alan Kyerematen, acting National Chairman of the NPP, Freddie Blay, Women’s Organizer of the NPP, Otiko Afisah Djaba, acting General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu and the parties Members of Parliament-elect.
There was heavy military and police presence at the palace where over 500 supporters of the NPP clad in party paraphernalia had thronged Manhyia to catch a glimpse of the president-elect and his entourage.
