The National Media Commission has appointed Dr Kwame Akuffo Anoff-Ntow as Director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC).
He takes over from Major (rtd) Albert Don Chebe, whose tenure at the national broadcaster expired at the end of May, 2016 but was not extended.
He is said to have close to two decades of professional experience in broadcasting as both a practitioner and a scholar.
His professional experience spans public broadcasting at GBC as well as consulting for other media and communication interests across the world.
A statement signed by Chairman of the Commission Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng on Thursday, October 27 said Dr Anoff-Ntow comes to the role of Director-General with intimate knowledge of the editorial and operational workings of global public broadcasting.
He is a member of the Ghana Journalists’ Association (GJA), the Canadian Communications Association and sits on the board of the African Centre for Parliamentary Affairs (ACEPA).
