The newly inducted president of the African University College of Communications (AUCC), Dr. G. Koryoe Anim-Wright, has advised Ghanaian youth to remain focused in the pursuit of their dreams.
Speaking at her induction ceremony in Accra Thursday, she underscored the fact that nothing is achieved without hard work and dedication.
“It is important for our youth to remember that nothing is achieved without hard work, commitment and dedication,” she said, noting that the road to success is not rosy as some may think.
Dr Anim-Wright said the difficult and unpleasant experiences that come along in life “provides us with more resources and more wisdom to manage the next one with greater success.”
Meanwhile, Dr Anim- Wright has accepted the task of the presidency of the AUCC and promised to help shape the future generation to come.
She succeeds Mr Kojo Yankah, the former president and founder of AUCC.
Dr Koryoe Anim-Wright has since June 2015 acted as the President of AUCC. She was appointed the vice president Academic of AUCC in January 2014. She previously served as the dean of the Sam E. Jonah School of Business from May 2013.
Since her arrival at AUCC, she has focused on refining AUCC’s strategic plan, worked closely with the deans and directors to set the University’s broad academic directions, designed and evaluated programmes as well as expanded the faculty.
Prior to her appointment at AUCC, she worked at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) where she served as the Director of the Centre for Management Development (2010-2011) and Director of Corporate Affairs and Institutional Advancement (2011-2013).
She has consulted for the Midwestern Universities Consortium for International Activities (MUCIA), served as a member of the board of directors of MG Radio Limited and also a member of the Ghana Institute of Languages Board.
She earned a Ph. D. in communications and Development from Union Institute and University in Cincinnati, Ohio (USA) and has a BA in Communication: Radio/TV Production from Central State University, Wilberforce, Ohio. (USA)
