Ghana’s senior women’s team, the Black Queens, on Wednesday held Nigeria’s Super Falcons to a 1-1 draw in their second Group B game at the ongoing African Women’s Cup of Nations.
Played at the Stade Municipal de Limbe, the match saw Africa’s most successful side drawing first blood in the 23rd minute.
Asisat Oshoala, who scored four in the Falcons’ 6-0 drubbing of Mali in their opening match, was the scorer again, proving why she is one of Africa’s best female footballers.
But Ghana’s midfield dynamo Elizabeth Addo found the equaliser from the spot, in the second consecutive game .
She scored in the 43rd minute.
The score stayed the same till referee Akhona Makalima brought proceedings to an end.
Ghana’s next opponents Mali will later play Kenya in the other group game.
But Ghana and Nigeria lead the group with four points apiece with the latter ahead on superior goal difference.
