Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has taken a swipe at President John Dramani Mahama, saying he like all Ghanaians is qualified to assess the competence of the president.
He says though the president was once incensed by his criticism of him as incompetent, claiming he has no experience in presidency, he is unfazed and will call a spade a spade.
“If you are in a bus and the driver can’t drive, don’t you have a right to voice out?” he wondered.
Dr Bawumia expressed these sentiments on Monday, September 26 at a mini-rally held at Breman-Bedum in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Constituency of the Central Region.
The running mate of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is in the Region for a campaign tour.
He expressed worry at the state of affairs in the country, laying the blame at the doorstep of government.
“The Ghana car being driven by John Mahama is going bad. He is an incompetent driver. So, on December 7, we will get him out for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to take over the steering wheel.”
NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate Anthony Effah called for the support of the party in the Constituency.
He said the Constituency has to get a representative who has a high level of literacy to be able to contribute to national discourse in Parliament especially helping the economic management team of the House.
