West Ham United’s record signing Andre Dede Ayew has wished former side Swansea City the best of luck in the English Premier League after they went 4-1 down to the Londoners at home.
The Ghanaian midfielder opened the score in the 13th minute at the Liberty Stadium after tapping in a low drive following Lukasz Fabianski’s fumble.
Winston Reid and Michail Antonio extended the lead in the second half for West Ham but not even a Fernando Llorente consolation could help the Swans as Andy Carroll added to their misery with a last-minute goal to end the game 4-1.
It was the third straight victory for the Hammers but woe for the Welsh side as pressure mounts on manager Bob Bradley, who was booed by supporters.
The club is currently 19th on the 20-club log.
But after the win over his first English club, Ayew took to Twitter to wish them well.
⚽️⚒ Great victory today!! Happy to find the net , i thank GOD❤️ . Its a difficult time for my former team mates. Wish them luck.#COYI pic.twitter.com/TPRkpEZpjh
Swansea’s next fixture will be on New Year’s Eve. They will welcome AFC Bournemouth to the Liberty Stadium.
West Ham will travel to champions Leicester City for their next encounter on the same day, December 31.
