The Minority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has lashed out at aspiring Members of Parliament who go promising spree during campaigns.
He asserted that those aspirants are simply ignorant of the office they are seeking to occupy.
He said he does not give promises when he is campaigning for votes so whoever says he gives promises during campaign is a lie.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP for Suame Constituency in the Ashanti Region told Onua FM’s Ghana Dadwene on Wednesday that anybody who claims he has been promising electorate is a liar.
“Those who don’t know the work of parliamentarians are those who give promises during campaigns and I don’t give promises”, he stated.
He admitted that bad roads have been a major challenge in his constituency, something he said he is working on.
Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu explained that “my salary for 20-years can’t construct 1-kilometer road. I don’t promise but I urge them to vote for me”.
He added that MPs are not development agents.
