General Secretary of governing National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia is making fun of opposition leader Nana Akufo-Addo’s tour to the Volta region to canvass for votes.
The New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate began a 5-day tour of the Volta Region on Monday with a clarion call on residents of the region to help change President Mahama’s government on December 7, and return the country onto the path of progress and prosperity.
But Mr. Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as General Mosquito, scoffed at the NPP presidential candidate that he is only on excursion to see how President Mahama who is also contesting the election has changed the area.
“Yes he seems to be living under illusion that the NDC hasn’t done any development there so this will be an opportunity for him to go and see what the governing NDC has done there. So he’s going on an excursion,” he told 3FM morning show, Sunrise Tuesday.
General Mosquito also rubbished the NPP’s target of 30% of total votes in the Volta region.
“He will have the opportunity to go and look at the airport project which is about 90% complete, he’ll also verify the various segments of the eastern corridor roads that have been completed.
“It will be useful for him to do that kind of excursion to update himself on information about the region,” he added sarcastically.
