Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo-Addo has advised party supporters to eschew complacency as the country goes to the polls on Wednesday.
In what appears to be his final nationwide address to appeal for votes, Nana Akufo-Addo was emphatic that until the ballots have been cast and he declared the winner, party faithfuls should keep pushing to get him the nod.
“Nobody should think that we have already won the elections,” he said in Ga as he addressed thousands at a mammoth rally in Accra on Sunday.
The NPP presidential candidate encouraged all who are eager for change to go all out on December 7 to vote massively for him and the NPP parliamentary candidates.
Nana Akufo-Addo enumerated a number of policies initiated by the erstwhile NPP government which he claimed have been left to collapse under the Mahama-led government.
For instance, he said, the National Health Insurance Scheme has nearly collapsed but was confident, “I am coming to restore and put new life into the National Health Insurance”.
He therefore assured Ghanaians that Ghana will work again under his presidency, stressing that he is not covetous to steal from Ghanaians, money needed for development projects.
He was surprised that many are wallowing in poverty when the country has many natural resources.
Nana Akufo-Addo appealed to the electorate to believe in him and entrust the governance of the nation into his hands, assuring that he has the men to help Ghana progress and prosper.
