France-based striker Abdul-Majeed Waris was among the three players dropped from the Black Stars squad for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
Together with Raphael Dwamena of Austrian side Lustenau and Joseph Attamah of Istanbul Basaksehir, the former Spartak Moscow forward was dropped on Wednesday, when participating teams were expected to present their final squads to the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Waris was originally named in the 26-man provisional squad last Monday.
But the dream to represent Ghana at a nations cup has been dashed for the FC Lorient attacker with the presentation of the final squad to Caf.
The two others – Dwamena and Attamah – had been named in a Black Stars squad for the first time.
