What’s your strategy Man, tell us. I hate suspense but I do it in my writings anyway .That’s my style, that’s not yours. Remember, uncertainty breeds rage. Rage breeds hate and hate nurtures insecurity, animosity and violence. Mind you we aren’t ready for that.
Have you forgotten what your brother did? I’m not suggesting they didn’t talk about him. Kwadwo did his best yet he’d his fair share of the sour grapes. This is Ghana and Ghanaians are known for their jaw-jaw so stop ‘tripping’. Kwadwo was blamed, he was cursed, and he was insulted. I must say they were charitable though, they didn’t beat him. But the heat was too much. He grayed too fast and aged too quickly. Today he’s an observer. I wonder what’s going through his mind right now and his thoughts about you.
What’s going on Charlotte? Come on don’t be too emotional about this. Weep not child, cry not woman take a deep breath and relax… Are you okay now? Yeah, I noticed you needed that. I’m back on the first gear. Don’t you know you’re driving a huge bus? Aren’t you aware, you’re carrying an estimated 27 million passengers?
Why can’t you leave Nduom alone? Can’t you see the tension you’re already generating? Do you think you’ve enough time to be jockeying up and down with suits and counter suits? You’ve got be kidding me my sister. Can’t you see the writings on the wall?
When are you bringing the voter’s register out? Eyes are watching!
Need I tell you the story about the exiled Israelites in Babylon? Daniel had good position at the king’s palace. He’d all the trappings to forget about his people. He served his master well, he was obedient to him but Daniel never forgot about the sufferings of the Israelites. He shared their pain. He wailed with them and moaned with them. He knew many couldn’t make ends meet and he never ceased to pray to God for their freedom.
Are you with me? Yeah stay right there. I though t you this: There’s time to bite and there’s time to flirt. There’s time to crack the whip and there’s time to pamper. Have you so soon forgotten to apply the biblical principles? Was the Sabbath made for man or man for the Sabbath?
Can we move on? Don’t let me lose my cool. There’s too much heat here. We’re suffocating.
It’s been a tortuous journey but we’re almost there. The stakes are so high you know better than I do. So you better do things right, stay focused and keep your eyes on the road. Listen to me Charlotte, the road is slippery. The road is rough and I pray it doesn’t get worse or rougher.
Did you get that?
That which is beautiful is beautiful and that which is ugly is ugly. That’s my quote credit me if you want to use it. Don’t steal my intellectual property. Think you’re smart? That isn’t smartness. That’s what a wimp does. Stop it you better don’t do that anymore.
Sorry Charlie that isn’t for you. That was for that imp who’s been copying my stories and sharing my byline. I’m talking to you Victor @ghanastar.com.
On Tuesday I woke up to see another beautiful day. What’s beautiful when it’s all wet? Someone remarked. Well I told him I don’t fret when it is wet. I count each day as a blessing —rainy, snowy, breezy or windy. He looked at me in a cruel way. But I didn’t bother. Case is closed!
Let’s move on Charlie. Where was I?
I read a beautiful line from a friend on TC Radio chartroom courtesy of WhatsApp: “Mr. Offin-Amaniampong, you never cease to amaze. Deep and thought provoking,” Mr. Seth Kwakye wrote that beautiful line.
He was commenting on my previous write-up, titled: “Where Are We Going?’ Actually that headline should have read— Mr. President: Where Are We Going? But the intent was to keep my readers in suspense. And I think it worked to the letter.
Anyway, my brother is not me. It is the in-dwelt-being. He calls for the shot. He controls me. He tells me what to do and I do it, what to say and I say it. How cool is that! May he always be praised for his goodness and unfinished blessings.
See when Man falls to the lowest ebb, heavens cry, mountains shake and rivers roar like the ocean. To this day our great great grandparents Adam and Eve continue to sob in their thin graves like a widow and moan like doves. Why?
We haven’t learned from their mistakes. In fact we’ve doubled down that which caused their fall and we seem to make things worse each passing day. Election 2016 stands to be tested: Are we ready as a people and can we pass the test countrymen and women?
Today, Charlotte this, tomorrow Charlotte that. What’s going on Charlie, are you sure you’re doing things right? I’ve got my ears full. My head aches every day. The complaints about you are too many. It leaves me to wonder if indeed you’re ready for this job
There are calls seeking your immediate resignation. There are also calls from every part of the country and across the frontiers, asking you to be vigilant. To be fair and firm, warning that any attempt to rig the election for the ruling NDC will spark violence. I don’t know how these calls sit with you. Do they make you cringe?
Do you feel the real tension?
I also heard one of the guys you disqualified (United Freedom Party presidential candidate Dr. Agyenim Boateng) say: “Mrs. Charlotte Osei is gradually dragging her out into the mud.” The UFP candidate who was speaking at a local FM station stated the EC which was once locally and internationally respected was losing its value which could affect the credibility of whatever it produces.
Is that assertion correct and how does that make you feel?
And is it true that in 2012 the NPP was given the opportunity by Kwadwo to rectify the anomaly on their presidential nominee’s forms? That’s a claim by Mr. Agyenim Boateng. But if that’s true why can’t you do same or better the progress he made?
And I think he further made a valid point which I will be quick to add before I let you go. Charlie, they say I should ask you: Are you super human or better than your predecessor? They also think you should have done due diligence on their forms before disqualifying them.
“Why punish us for mistakes committed by our subscribers? Are we magicians to know that our subscribers engaged in double nomination forms signing? We would have accepted our mistakes if we had committed the mistakes ourselves as presidential nominee. It’s unacceptable to punish us because of somebody’s mistakes,” the UFP candidate submitted.
And are they right, saying that political parties that have two thirds of offices (I think they meant offices spread across the country) should have been considered. Is that in the blueprint?
So, Charlie the ball is still in/at your court. Be mindful that there are 27 million people crammed on the bus. Do you want to kill the nation of Israel or you want her to live and have her freedom? Also remember, they’re tired, some are on life supporting machines— their patience are thinning so don’t escalate the situation if you can’t de-escalate it. Every soul on the bus matters and every vote counts. A word to a wise is enough.
