The voices of a soldier and a policeman…
Great minds they say think alike, yes! But greater is the thinking when the minds involved are those of security personnel.
After the long search for this sensational police writer, I just had to mention his name in one of my articles and it was a done deal.
I guess it circulated within police, military and other security circles. It was as though Manifest beefing with Sakordie. Enough respect to you Mohammed Abdul Hanan EL-Saeed, you gave me a hype for free. Lol.
Now collaboratively, this is a piece we’ve put together dubbed “What SESSA games couldn’t do for the security services, social media is doing so well”.
I guess the rank and files within all security services and even civilians would be applauding us by now. Well its all in the quest to foster unity amongst us(security services).
Now, since Abdul Hanan Mohammed EL-Saeed is a bigger fish as far as writing is concerned, let me do the singing and he does the rapping. Lol.
My say;
The quest to foster unity amongst security personnel dates back into time, when I think I wasn’t even born. Well as to whether implementations then were successful can best be told by some surviving veterans.
In 1991, the Security Services Sports Association(SESSA) was formed as a tool to help foster unity amongst these services through sports.
On most, if not all of these inter services games, winning teams heckled and mocked loosing opponents. These style of jubilation were either focused to prove superiority or sometimes mock the so-called superiors in arms if they lost.
I remember having argued with a colleague in the police service over one of such lost to them.
Well, those were some of the ‘young soldier’ syndrome.
Talking with Abdul he got my attention to a very silent tool that is doing the magic of fostering unity amongst these men in uniform.
His say;
I am grateful my brother, I am happy that my Kwesimintsim articles brought us together and especially our services.
I am happy we didn’t allow our ranks to be broken by that incident.
It is said that you cannot change what you refuse to confront. I am happy that social media is providing us with a wonderful platform to identify the nagging issues that has over the years degenerated into unwanted confrontations between our members.
We don’t need that in this day and age, and that is the most reason why I am so excited that we are beginning this way, to put together pieces of work for our colleagues in both the Military and the Police Service to read and understand that we are brothers in the business of keeping this country safe and nothing more.
I hope and believe that we will go a long way if we stay on this course.
The status quo master change. And for it to change our generation of young officers have a bigger say. We have social media that our predecessors didn’t have but only had to rely on Sessa games.
That is why I couldn’t have accepted the topic the more. It is a very timely topic at the most opportune time.
I believe that our problems have always been stereotypical instead of real challenges. We can solve this together very easily by the power of social media.
There are both good and bad people in the Armed forces and the Ghana Police Service.
It will be in our interest to identify the good ones amongst us to help us propagate our collective good images rather than soil our reputations.
Let’s not allow the bad ones amongst us to always carry the day. Let the good people speak up and silence the bad guys who drag our names into the mud always.
How the Police Service looks like depends on where you are standing and in the same vein how the Ghana Armed Forces look like depends on where you are standing.
Clearly it means that there is a place when you stand, you will see the good in both the Ghana Armed forces and the Ghana Police Service.
My friend and I have decided to take a position that projects our services instead of bringing each other down.
Join us on a project to unite the members of the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Armed Forces.
You are welcome
