A leading member of the “Mahama Must Go” movement, a big mind of course, arrived at the Kotoka airport recently. Hardly had he arrived at the airport, when he was able to spot two major problems which need urgent addressing/attention.
Two airplanes had landed at the airport within a short period from one another. Therefore, there was a large number of people queuing haphazardly to cross the “Thermal Imaging Barrier” before proceeding to the numerously-arranged immigration counters or cabins.
Immediately behind the “Thermal Imaging Barrier”, he could see one of the airport’s staffs, a lady so to speak, shouting on top of her voice without the use of a megaphone. She was saying, “Are you on transit to Darkar? Please all those on transit to Darkar should come and stand here”
What she was doing goes to conclude that there is no transit hall at Kotoka airport. If there were any, she would not do as she was doing because those on transit would know where to go or she would simply be directing them to the transit hall but not to ask them to come and stand beside her.
Again, if there were any, why are there no signs installed at the airport to direct passengers to that area?
The other problem which is of most importance to that member of “Mahama Must Go” movement who has gone to Ghana to purposely campaign to bring Nana Akufo Addo and NPP to power to send President Mahama into political oblivion is the following.
There was again a huge crowd of passengers queuing up to be checked through the immigration post before proceeding to the carousels to collect their baggage.
As he was standing in the long double-snaking queues waiting for his turn, he could establish that when a counter became available, the immigration officer sitting in the cabin would be beckoning the next passenger/person to his or her counter. As the counters/cabins are many, and from the way they have been arranged, one in the queue found it difficult to tell it was their turn to proceed to that particular counter. This is because the officer beckoning you to proceed to him/her will be on your blind
When it was the turn of this big mind from the “Mahama Must Go” movement, he asked the two immigration officers attending to him whether the arrival hall was still under refurbishment or it has been completed? Even though they answered it was still under refurbishment, one could clearly tell the renovation works have been completed.
He suggested to the immigration officers exactly as following: Would you mind suggesting to your bosses to get Counter Controllers that are automated to announce –next person proceed to counter no.1 or counter no.2 etc., than beckoning people in the queue to proceed to the counters that become available but without us noticing in time?
They were very appreciative of the suggestion and wondered how he could just on arrival establish the problem to come out with such a brilliant suggestion?
They promised to pass it on. However, it has to be published to give the suggestion done in private a public boost and public awareness in case they fail to report it as promised.
That big mind does not want to take credit for his timely suggestion but he gives the credit to the people in the queue and the immigration officers who were beckoning the air arrived passengers in the queue to proceed to their vacant counters as explained above.
The big minds are quick to spot problems, suggest solutions and make sure the problems are resolved. This is why the big minds are solidly behind the principal big minds (Nana Akufo Addo and Dr Mahammudu Bawumia) to solve Ghana’s problems to bring prosperity, job security, safety and comfort to all Ghanaians.
