It sounds absurd right? But please hold your thoughts, don’t crucify me yet as they did to Jesus Christ. Be gentle with me. Be considerate. And what’s the last one, I nearly forgot it? Be tolerant.
I tell you, there’s nothing so humbling like giving ears to the people you don’t even agree with or see eye to eye.
Fact is you don’t have to know me or like me to disagree or agree with me on an issue. We don’t have to belong to same sect, same party, same parents, same faith or same team to help build what is ours. What we all have stake in it. Did you get that?
Simply put, if the price is right say it is right. And if the price is bad call it as it is.
So let me first state my point and thereafter you can draw your own conclusions:
If Confucius had told you he could turn the world upside down, it would have sparked confusion right? No doubt about that.
Glad he didn’t say that. But Confucius is dead or he died. Mohammed the prophet of the Muslims is dead or he died and Jesus also died but he resurrected.
Let’s fast forward it, many great men and women of our generation and two centuries back or more are all dead or have died. And humanity—rich or poor, young or old, male or female, Hindu or Buddhist is still dying and will continue to die.
Xxxxxxxxxxxxxx And now here we are…
A man goes to the highest court of the Jews— the Sanhedrin in Jerusalem, with a case many view as controversial and ridiculous. Dressed in all white he holds a scroll and a Bible in both hands looking so livid. His eyes fixed to the ceiling as though there’re beams to count. He wouldn’t talk to anybody until the judge calls him.
But who’s touched the wrong nerve of the strange man?
He’s suing none other than the Most High, God the Almighty.
What’s his case?
Why has God allowed Satan or the Devil to torment the children he loves?
And he quotes John 3:16 “For God so loves the world…” to buttress his case.
The judge looks at the man pulls his glasses to the tip of his nose. Too close to the roof of his mouth and shakes his head as if to say—‘Really?’ He stares at the man more and finally beckons him to step forward.
‘Why has it taken God so long to kill Satan?” asks the man.
At this time he draws more eyes to himself as whispers fill the courtroom like zombies creeping out from the sepulchers.
“Order,” shouts the court clerk.
And the judge speaks:
“Aren’t you glad that you’re here today?”
“Yes I am, my Lord,” says the man.
The judge continues: “We are all not right. We are all not perfect. Evil dwells in us. We commit sin(s) every day that’s evil and that’s the devil when he becomes an adult. We lie, we commit adultery, we fornicate, we kill and steal from people, we back bite our own friends, you name it. That’s all evil.”
Yet, God is still merciful. Yes he’s still forgiving.
He didn’t kill you when you lied. He didn’t cause brimstone to fall upon you when you raped that beautiful soul neither did he allow the hungry lion to grind you when you robbed the widow across you.
He spared your life when you took your brother’s life.
If I called you a ‘devil’ after that heinous crime would you expect God to kill you instantly/?
Remember Donald called Hillary the ‘devil’ at the second US presidential debate in October 9, 2016.
Did you expect God to kill her because someone cried wolf, when actually there wasn’t wolf?
I bet, wicked as you are you won’t even ask for repentance. But you’ll pray this way: ‘I must never get caught.’ You’ll pray that there will be more victims, more to reap from where you’ve never sown and more to kill and maim.”
And who else was called the ‘devil’ at the UN’s General Assembly about a decade ago?
Was it Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? No it wasn’t him (the former Iranian president).
It was Hugo Chavez (former Venezuelan president now deceased) who taunted former US president George W. Bush: “The devil is here…” he mocked.
Here’s how I put it, evil embedded if uncontrolled would grow to become the devil.
Better put, the evil in you is like chi Wawa, today it’s barking but tomorrow it will be howling like a wolf. So, you’re the reason the devil still exists. You’re the reason there are many devils.
Think about it for a second. Weren’t you in church yesterday when your head pastor screamed: “I bound Satan in the name of Jesus?” I step on him and I cast him in the bottomless pit.”
Yet today the devil is here. But thank God the Most High, the most compassionate, the most loving and the most gracious we’re still alive and even though tomorrow we’ll be dead or die we understand that we’re born to live and born to die.
Always remember many devils exist not because God doesn’t care or love us but because we’ve chosen or allowed them to live in/with us.
