Regarding Osafo-Marfo And Agyarko’s Nomination

Folks, folks, folks! I’m going bonkers. What am I reading? “Appointment Committee ‘approves ‘ 8 nominees; freezes Osafo-Marfo and Agyarko’s approval,” or my eyes are playing tricks on me? Really? Someone must be kidding me.

Firstly, let’s take a look at Osafo-Marfo’s issue: It is alleged he said something to the effect that those who don’t hail from resource-rich regions must not be put in sensitive positions to control resources. Osofo-Marfo has refuted these allegations, claiming the tape was doctored.

However, I’m going to cut to the chase and grant that he actually made those remarks. Let’s juxtapose his remarks and actions with that of Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, a member of the Appointments Committee.

During the 2012 biometric registration exercise, Mr Vanderpuye, then the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for the Odododiodio constituency, not only said some people must not be allowed to register but actually organized thugs to prevent Ghanaians ( mainly Akans ), recognized at least as permanent traders or workers around that enclave from registering. When Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekorful went there to defend the rights of her fellow citizens, some ragamuffins who were wielding all manner of offensive weapons pounced on her and beat the hell out of her.

Please compare and contrast the alleged utterances of Osafo-Marfo and Vanderpuye, and draw your own conclusions.

What gets my goat is Vanderpuye was not only confirmed as a minister, he actually sits on this noble committee. Nerves, nerves, nerves!

As for Agyarko’s situation, all the reasons being ascribed are laughable. This morning, I heard on Adom news that the reason for freezing Agyarko’s nomination is for stating the gospel truth – that ex-President Mahama was incompetent. Just examine our current economic situation and tell me that statement is a stretch.

The second reason is the biggest laugh of the century: That he broached an open secret — the World Bank’s manipulations of leaders of developing economies, and for that matter ex-President Mahama.

For those who care to know why the reason for freezing Torino’s nomination is frivolous, check out this link:

For evidence that the World Bank pressurized Ex- President Mahama, this is one of the many that abound. Even the cursory reader can infer there is circumstantial evidence to back Agyarko’s assertions.

Chairman Joe Wise, forward their nominations to the floor for an up or down votes and let’s separate the men from the boys, and for that matter the women from the girls.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

FORWARD TO THE HOUSE!!

THAW THE ICE NOW!!!
