Some people who think the search has become a circus and has gone longer than it should have expressed their resentment on social media platforms.
This disconcerted few assert that the search would have ended a long time ago had Castro not been a celebrity. This small pool of people have expressed some misgivings about the energy spent by the Ghana Police and the Maritime staff in the search.
They question whether if these two organizations spearheading the search would have devoted the same amount of time and resources to them, if they the ordinary Ghanaian had been lost at sea.
It is without a doubt that a lot of manpower and money has been spent to locate the Castro and Janet, maybe more than would have been spent on the average Ghanaian.
Although a lot of resources have so far been expended on the search, we do agree that the search must still continue in order to bring some closure to the family and friends of those Janet and Castro.
With the issue of the funding of the search, we at Accra Report cannot verify whether the government or the kinsmen of Castro and Janet are the principal backers. We definitely know that Asamoah Gyan, a close confidant of Castro, has spent a huge amount of money to aid in the search.
As the search continues, we just want to entreat all Ghanaians to pray for the two families and for a positive outcome. For those disgruntled folks, please be rest assured that had you been in this unfortunate scenario; your loved ones would have left no stone unturned to find you.
