Let us continue to rally behind and vote for Nana Akufo-Addo on 7th December, to bring his unwavering love for peace and commitment to serve Ghana with integrity and to the benefit of every Ghanaian, irrespective of our different ethnicity, religious or political beliefs, economic and social backgrounds to a realization.
Nana Addo has shown and proven over the last 30years in public service, his love, commitment to national unity and cohesion, tolerance, peace, prosperity and development. Nana Addo is not selfish and exhibit great principles and values which uplift social values and common national aspirations.
It must be recalled with credit to Nana Addo in particular and Ghana as a whole, when the nation was at the brink of lawlessness and mayhem after the near split decision of the Supreme Court regarding the presidential election petition in 2013. Nana Addo passed a great national test of love, credibility, integrity, tolerance, commitment to peace, unity and national cohesion. A single unguided word from Nana Addo was required to set our great nation we all love on fire. The anger and frustration of the people was at a tipping point.
However, something expectant and unique of Nana Addo happened which would’ve been difficult for others in his position to have exercised. He showed love, leadership and responsibility for the unity, peace, rule of law and the cohesion of Ghana by letting up his ambition to lead Ghana to the benefit of all Ghanaians by accepting the verdict of the Court.
Indeed, Nana Akufo-Addo ended an uncertain national and chaotic moment masterly when he said;
“….whilst I disagree with the Court’s decision, I accept it. I accept that what the Court says brings finality to the election dispute. We shall not be asking for a review of the verdict so we can all move on in the interest of our nation. Everything in my bones, in my upbringing and in what I have done with my life thus far makes it imperative that I accept a decision made by the highest court of the land, however much I dislike or disagree with it.”
Isn’t patronizing or an attempt to insult the intelligence of Ghanaians when a well-rehearsed propaganda of the NDC seeks to portray the contrary, the man Ghanaians have grown in admiration, for his demonstrable love, tolerance and commitment to national peace and cohesion?
Ghanaians are increasingly attesting to Nana Addo’s tolerance and commitment to peace as they rally behind his campaign as never before in confidence.
Recently, a justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Dotse confirmed Nana Addo’s peace loving nature when advised leaders of political parties;
“…to emulate the attitude exhibited by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who accepted the court’s verdict on the 2012 election dispute….”
In this year and in this election, president Mahama will likely face a similar test and we hope he’s the wit and courage to pass.
Let us all vote for Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP to secure our national peace and lead the change we all seek and desire.
