The Director of Election of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has charged Ghanaians to reject Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana A. Addo in the up-coming general elections because he is weak, divisive and an intolerant leader.
Mr. Ampofo said this at the NDC 2016 election campaign launch in cape coast on Sunday, August 14, 2016. According to Mr. Ampofo, Nana Addo’s failure to unite his own party was enough evidence that he is a weak leader and therefore Ghanaians should never entrust their destiny into his hands.
“The Legacy of peace and unity President J. A. Kuffour entrusted to Akuffo Addo is now in disarray because of Nana Addo’s divisive and intolerant leadership style.” Mr. Ampofo wonders how Nana Addo would unite Ghanaians when he could not manage his own party.
President J. D. Mahama unlike Nana Addo, has “made the NDC a very attractive party, very accommodating party, a party that receives everybody; therefore, we are putting these two gentlemen before Ghanaians: John Dramani Mahama and Akuffo Addo; whom can we entrust the peace and security of this country into his hands”
According to Mr. Ampofo, many members of the NPP have been dismissed and suspended from the party for merely disagreeing with Nana Addo. “My checks reveal that nearly 2,000 members of the NPP across the country have been suspended: some are national executives, some are constituency executives….” Nana Addo’s failure to unite the rank and file of the NPP exposes his feeble leadership style, thus disqualifies him from ever becoming president of the republic of Ghana.
“This year’s election is about who can give us peace, who can provide us credible leadership that will ensure peace and tranquility within our country and even beyond the borders of our country. President Mahama has so far proven that he is that kind of leader capable of uniting a nation.” Mr. Ampofo asserts.
Just as the Lord admonished the Israelites in Deuteronomy 30:19 (I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live), Mr. Ampofo urged Ghanaians to choose between J. D. Mahama and Nana Addo whom he described as violent and intolerant leader.
He encouraged Ghanaians to come out in their numbers on December 7 and vote massively for John Dramani for a second term because he is a peace loving person, unifier and someone who has the interest of every Ghanaian at heart.
