Emmanuel Mensah Acquah is rare, simply because he has a rare passion.
I once wrote that, “I can easily predict the success, stagnation or failure of anyone by assessing the level of his or her passion.” Yes, passion is a most important law required to emerge really successful in life.
Interestingly, young people of today aspire to success — that’s good. Sadly, many of them will become less successful, might fail or even get stuck in stasis. Why? Such people are lacking in passion and/or they possess a feeble passion.
You could have the talent, be creative and exhibit excellence, as crucial as these are, yet your passion would largely determine the outcome of your pursuit of success. Without passion — a rare one though — you are as powerless as a day-old baby.
That is why the inspiring story of Emmanuel is aimed at teaching the youths about the significance of passion in everyday life.
Now who is Emmanuel Mensah Acquah? Emmanuel Kwame Mensah Acquah, an embodiment of passion, is a self-taught guitarist. Did you know that he mastered his guitar oriented talent by watching videos, reading PDF’s, praying and, of course, practising?
Emmanuel, who is in his early twenties, is a uniquely gifted guitarist whose passion for playing guitar is really unusual. In fact, he is quite a freakish instrumentalist. He once diverted 50% of his school fees and also sold bread just to raise money in order to buy his first guitar when he was in SHS.
That sounds somehow ridiculous, right? Okay, he did that because he had, and still has, an overwhelming passion for his craft at a time when his family were not really willing to fund it.
Also, Emmanuel told me that he constantly invests his soul in the art of playing guitar to his relatives and friends’ dismay. Though he is an accountancy student at TTU in Sekondi-Takoradi who dreams of becoming a chartered accountant one day, he revealed that playing guitar takes virtually all his time, money and comfortability.
Moreover, he has actually experienced several hurdles due to how he does what he is known for. Kwame, a lead guitarist, also stated that event organisers sometimes do not remunerate him, but he never feels worried since he thinks of playing the guitar to glorify God, touch lives, and improve on his skill.
I can confidently tell that Emmanuel Mensah Acquah is a more promising instrumentalist; what he thinks, speaks and acts are synchronously amazing. No wonder his role models include Don Moen, Koda and Israel Houghton.
He remarked, “I’m playing guitar to inspire the hopeless to be hopeful.”
For I believe he is a beacon of hope to passionate yet struggling youths, especially instrumentalists, who encounter scepticism, indifference and opposition.
God bless Emmanuel and his hustle. He is destined to reach dizzy heights with his wonderful potential.
Lastly, the Sircle brand is proud of his personality and actually supports what he does, because he is a definition of “Be Rare.”
