You have been told that victory is non-negotiable, that every Ghanaian wants your candidate to win and that nothing can make you lose this year’s elections
Because of this, you have readied your white polish cotton with your party’ logo boldly embroidered on it.
I am here to tell you the truth, nothing but the truth; your party is going to be defeated big time. Are you ready for defeat? You better be
People say elections is like football, you win, lose or draw. I say election is like job interview, you can prepare better than anyone but your appointment depends on the interviewer or the panel. In football, event on the field of play depends on you. In job interview it depends on the interviewers. It doesn’t matter how good you are or perform, if members of the panel don’t like you, forget about the job
With what mind-set do approach job interviews? Do you go with a do or die mind-set or one of hope and subtle enthusiasm?
So why have you taken an entrenched position that the only possible outcome of this year’s elections is your party winning?
Sorry buddy, I have the fact and I know exactly what will happen so you better prepare mind: your party is losing this year’s elections big time
You don’t need to be ready for victory in most competitions, it is easier responding to victory even when it comes surprisingly, unexpected defeat can be very dangerous
Today, I want you to start preparing for a defeat. Ghana is better off if you are more ready for defeat than for victory. You are a danger to the peace of this nation if you think victory is non-negotiable.
To those of you in NDC who think victory is constant for Mahama because of what he has achieved over the past four years and by extension 8 years, I want to tell you that you are self-deceived. Many Ghanaians are not impressed at all. People want food on the table you say infrastructure. In fact, many people are going to vote against him and there’s a big chance that he will lose. Hope for victory, prepare for defeat
To you the NPP who think Mahama has already lost because of dum sor and hardship, change your mind, many people are impressed with what he has done so far. So many people have benefited from the massive infrastructural development and will appreciate it with a vote for him.
It is not true that the whole Ghana sees Nana as the saviour, many people will vote against him. At this stage, you can only hope for victory; prepare for defeat
You may have the best policies, in fact, your policies maybe the only way to a better future, you may have re-asphalted the already asphalted roads; the point is that you are not winning.
The district you are sending the factory say they want a school, those who have the school say they prefer a district. Just prepare your mind for defeat
The truth is that privately, the politicians are consigned to defeat and hoping for victory. The public utterances and declaration of victory are just meant to ginger you the voter so that you don’t stay at home. Now that you have been gingered, I am here to bring you to reality; calm you down and make you sober because the truth is that your party is loosing
This doesn’t mean stay at home, go out and vote but in a sober manner as someone who has very little expectations and looking forward to the unexpected
The biggest danger to the peace of this nation is you out there who think that nothing in this world can make your party lose. You are not in the minds of Ghanaians. The fans you receive during the campaigns, the filling of the stadium and the forecourt of Trade Fair means nothing- people were just there to have fan
If you were attentive, you will even realise that they were not even paying attention to what was being said. They were just shouting and dancing even with no song playing
Just come back to reality and know that in elections, polls and prophesies don’t vote, it is the people who vote
Sure, you have done your best to send your message to the people: they will choose whose message they deem important for our development. It is not up to you to determine who wins- it is up to Ghanaians to do that.
It is up to them to make that choice. You have no right to force your candidate on us. NDC, NPP, we made you, you are nothing without us. Ghana is Ghana without NDC and NPP. If majority of us decides to bark PPP, PPP will be as strong as NPP or NDC and both parties will take the back seat.
Allow the good people of Ghana make their decision. Just hope for our vote but expect to be defeated. If you don’t attack the company that reject you after interviews, respect our decision not to elect you
We stand in the queue to vote for politicians and stand aside for them to drive past us- it is enough a sacrifice
We give them absolute comfort to be able to serve us but in the end, we serve them and go down for them to step over us
If this is not enough, nothing will be. Not even your life will be
Some of you have never and will never shake the hand of Mahama in his capacity as President because his bodyguards won’t even allow you to get 10 meters close to him
The man doesn’t even know you exist and yet you think you are wise to die for him?
If Nana becomes the President, he will be without knowing your individual contribution. He will thank you through the media. He won’t even come to your house to say thank you.
Don’t take it too personal my paddy, aside our collective benefit of electing the best, this elections is about elevating one family and group of people over the others. Nana is where he is largely because of his father. Mahama’s family will never be the same.
NPP came to power for 8 years and became the richest party; today, the NDC are the richest party after 8 years in power. Think! Think!! Think!!! my brother, thinkie
Your family will remain the same if you don’t work hard to elevate it. Use your head my guy.
To the voter out there, regardless of who wins the elections, you will be required to work hard to survive. There’s no guarantee that you will be rich if the NPP comes or if the NDC retains the seat.
There are many NDC members who succeeded during Kuffour’s era. Others have also made it in Mills/Mahama’s era. Regardless of who wins, it depends on you
I have seen people sell their properties to support political parties only to be forgotten when power was attained. There are countless people who became poor when their party came to power. They were the backbone of their party during opposition
There is no guarantee that you will succeed should your party win. From where I am, I can assure you one thing which never fails; if you work hard, you will never starve.
Don’t deceive yourself that your future depends on Nana winning or another four years for Mahama. Your future depends on how you embrace the little opportunities God presents you
You won’t starve if you work hard
Ghana has been hard but people are still marrying, building houses, buying cars and traveling overseas to buy toothpick
You can’t tell me it is only NDC members who are enjoying. The people enjoying are those who made the most out of the trying times. We have not reached the state of hopelessness
Yes, things may be hard but we don’t have to bask all our hope in the politician who can do only little. We have to place our hope in the God we serve and work hard as He has instructed us to
You won’t die if your party doesn’t win. For all you know, the other party winning is the key to unlocking the door to your riches. To die for a politician, die for your dreams.
In Ghana, we eat solid food, swallow ball-like foods, drink liquid food and chew meat. Don’t put yourself in a position where you lose your eating, swallowing and chewing ability and be left with only your drinking ability. If you escape a slap, you can enjoy your meal even if your party doesn’t win. Take good care of yourself. You matter to your family.
This is my peace message to the people of Ghana. Painfully, those who snatch ballot boxes and create problems don’t usually have time to read articles
If you know one, teach him how to embrace defeat- because it is very eminent
I don’t have to tell you to share- do I?
